FALL/WINTER EVENTS! 

SCHWEITZER MOUNTAIN - Stand at the top and stare at three mountain ranges, Canada and three states. Enjoy a variety of terrain from smooth corduroy groomers to wide open bowls and gladed runs. Then return to the top at hair-flying speed thanks in part to Stella. Stella, as you will soon discover, is Idaho's only six-person, high-speed lift. Coeur d'Alene Snowmobile Club - There are around 350 miles of trail in Kootenai County.  Can snowmobile into lodges like the Cascade Lodge, accessible from the Fernan trailhead, and the Happy Hermit Lodge, accessible from the bunco trail system. 

EAGLE WATCHING - Beauty Bay on Lake Coeur d'Alene - Watch the amazing Eagles as they hunt and dive for fish in the cold clear water of Lake Coeur d'Alene.  During the months of December and January, visit the lookout points and bring your binoculars. You will not want to miss this opportunity to learn more about nature and about our national symbol, the Eagle.

Dec. 9th - Friday - Art Walk Downtown Coeur d'Alene. 2nd Friday of the month. Enjoy an evening of exceptional art, fine dining and friends. From 5-8 pm galleries host opening receptions with the opportunity to meet the artists, listen to live music and view newly arrived works of art, all within an easy strolling distance. Dec 11 - 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm - Holiday Tour & Craft Show - The 22nd Annual North Idaho Bed and Breakfast Association Holiday Tour is set for Sunday December 11th from 12pm to 5pm.  This year they've added a Craft Show showcasing handcrafted Items by both Innkeepers and local artists. See beautifully decorated homes, shop for one-of-a-kind gifts, enjoy refreshments and support local charities. ANNUAL "EAGLE WATCH" WEEK - begins Dec. 26th .  The BLM and Idaho Fish and Game will host - a free event.  Staff from each agency will be available with spotting scopes, brochures and "eagle expertise"  at the Mineral Ridge boat launch and trailhead parking areas.

Jan 1st - The 35th Hangover Handicap Run 9:30. The five-mile run goes along the scenic Centennial Trail on Coeur d'Alene Lake Dr.  The race is a fundraiser for TESH, a nonprofit that helps people with disabilities learn to live independenly.  Info: Holly, 765-5105.

Jan. 1st - Annual Polar Bear Plunge - 12:00 noon on Sanders Beach!   I haven't missed in 17 years!  I cheer everyone on!
